We have been manufacturing expanded metal since 1972
Since 1972, Expandermetall has built a unique center of excellence for the development and manufacture of expanded metal products. For three generations, the company has been working to supply both the Swedish and international markets with high quality products. Today, around half of the company’s sales come from exports. Our strength lies in helping customers find the best solution for their needs—both economically and technically. Quality is important to us, and we are certified according to FR2000 for quality and environmental management.
The company’s history dates back to 1960
At the time, the company operated under the name Bil City and focused on trading new and used cars as well as auto repairs.
At the end of 1960s, the company stopped selling new-car and invested in an expanded-metal machine. Production began a few years later, and in 1972 the company changed its name to Expandermetall AB.
In 1978, the company moved to its current premises in Hestra. At that time, Sixten Andersson was the owner managing director of the company; in 1988, Christer Horte took over the management. Today, Christer’s son Andreas Holmberg is the owner and managing director of Expandermetall.
The company operates from its own facilities just outside Tranås, between Jönköping and Linköping. It is located close to a wide network of flexibles suppliers in the Ydre region and has good transport links in all directions.
